Your Protections Under Title VI

Because Economic Opportunity Agency of Washington County, Inc., (EOA) receives Federal financial assistance, it is required to notify the public of the protections against discrimination granted to them by Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

EOA complies with all civil rights provisions of federal statutes and related authorities that prohibit discrimination in programs and activities that receive Federal financial assistance as provided by Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, as amended. (42 U.S.C. Section 2000d)

Therefore, EOA does not discriminate on the basis of race, sex, color, age, national origin, religion or disability, in the admission, access to and treatment in EOA programs, services and activities, as well as EOA hiring or employment practices.

Title VI Information / Complaint Process

If you believe you have been subjected to unequal treatment by EOA because of race, color, national origin, age, gender, or disability, you have the right to file a formal complaint. The complaint must include all the following information:

Complainant’s Name;
Complainant’s Address;
Phone Number;
Email address;
A complete description of the specific facts of the acts or omissions claimed to be discrimination as they relate to the goals and objectives of Title VI as stated above; and
Complaints must be addressed Delia Anderson Farmer, Executive Director of EOA, Inc. at 614 E. Emma Ave., Suite M401, Springdale, AR 72764.

EOA will review and investigate all complaints received. EOA shall have thirty (30) days from the date of receipt of a complaint to investigate and provide a written response and determination to the complainant’s claim of discrimination. The complainant may appeal this determination to the Federal Transit Administration or the United States Department of Transportation within thirty (30) days of the receipt of the determination.
